Understanding Our Returns and Exchange Policies

We recognize that purchasing online can be challenging without physically inspecting the product, which is why we provide a hassle-free 7-day exchange and return policy. Exchange or return is available for 7 days from the date of delivery as per postage tracking. Size, model exchanges or refund requests are acceptable within this period. We prioritize customer convenience, providing an easy-to-use return form and a user-friendly process. Understanding Our Warranty

Japan Scissor Shop offers a warranty for any scissors purchased on our website. The warranty period varies by manufacturer: Jaguar Germany Scissors: 1-year warranty unless otherwise specified Juntetsu Scissors: Lifetime warranty Yasaka Shears (Seiki): 1-year warranty Ichiro Scissors: Lifetime warranty Mina Scissors: 2-year warranty If you discover any manufacturing defects, kindly contact us at hello@japanscissorshop.com. Please note that all orders are currently shipped from outside Canada. The current return address is in Australia.

Defining Warranty Defects

A defect covered by warranty includes any manufacturing error or malfunction. If you are not fully satisfied or encounter a problem with the product, we encourage you to let us know! We follow the consumer law which permits us to repair or replace goods (or part of them) to maintain a positive customer experience. Our warranty does not cover accidental damage, chemical damage, wear and tear, or damage due to improper use. It also excludes any damage caused by misuse such as chipping, dropping, over tightening, incorrect sharpening, inadequate maintenance, and improper care of your scissors.

Our Returns Process

Should you need to return a product due to manufacturing defects under warranty, start by reaching out to us at hello@japanscissorshop.com and inform us of the issue. Include the original packaging (case, oil, thumb rings etc) when returning the product. If these items are not in good condition, a restocking fee may apply. 


We understand the difficulty in choosing the correct pair of scissors online. Therefore, we offer a 7-day return policy where products and all original packaging in good (re-sellable) condition are returned to the address provided by our staff. If the product and packaging are in good condition and returned within the 7-day period, we will assess the scissors and either exchange them or issue a refund, minus a 10% restocking fee. If all original packaging and contents are not included, a further restocking and replacement fee will be agreed upon to proceed with the return or exchange.
